We currently have 20 people attending, with 7 folks on the waiting list.  If you are unable to attend for any reason, please contact us as soon as you know so that we can arrange for the folks on the waiting list to attend.

The logistics of the trip are as follows:

MEETING PLACE: Santa Rita Park

MEETING TIME: 7:30 A.M. departure

APPROXIMATE RETURN TIME: 5:00 P.M.

                            Lots of water

                            Sunscreen

                            Hat

                            Clothing for weather conditions

A 4 Wheel Drive vehicle is preferred; 2 Wheel Drive High Clearance Vehicle is okay.  We have been asked to keep the number of cars to a minimum by Jim Copeland, our Archaeologist Guide.

We will meet Jim Copeland, our guide, at 8:30 a.m. in Bloomfield at the Farmers Market located at intersection of US64 and 550.

No dogs are allowed on the trip.

We will look at early Navajo rock art and defensive sites dating @ 1500s to mid 1700s. We may visit other less traveled canyons, other than Largo Canyon.  This will depend on weather and road conditions.

Jim Copeland sent the attached file which gives info on Dinetah rock art and pueblito reading list.  Thanks Jim!
